The very first WWE/WWF Monday Night Raw

Watch the first ever WWE/WWF Monday Night Raw!

| On 14, Jan 2013

On January 11, 1993, the WWF debuted a brand new show called “Monday Night Raw.” Who knew what it would grow to…

I remember that Monday night well, a young 15 year old Greg DeMarco sitting in his house in Richmond, Virginia. I had been watching WWF wrestling since the 80′s, and had followed the NWA (and later WCW) as well. I also found my way into independent wrestling with the Virginia Wrestling Association’s regular events at the Showplace in Mechanicsville.

20 years later I sat down to watch the 20th Anniversary of Raw. The show as a whole wasn’t bad. Outside of the cage match between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler, the booking team showed some guts.

But that’s a conversation for a later date. For now, check out what the WWF gave us 20 years ago–the very first edition of  Monday Night Raw, live (at the time) from the Manhattan Center in New York City!

From the WWE YouTube channel:
“Relive the very first edition of Monday Night Raw which aired on January 11, 1993 from the Manhattan Center in New York City. This groundbreaking event featured Superstars such as Shawn Michaels, Yokozuna, Razor Ramon and the Undertaker.”
